If our health care providers focus on being efficient and accountable, they will be better equipped to provide quality, affordable health care in this country. We must create a consumer-based health care system that benefits individuals and small businesses, not highly paid lobbyists and insurance companies. The Healthnet Act I have proposed would do just that by providing small businesses access to affordable health care for all of their employees, and give small business owners the opportunity to pool resources to have the same ability as Fortune 500 companies to purchase coverage at lower rates across state lines.
