Studies have shown that South Carolina has one of the largest populations of illegal immigrants per capita in the United States. South Carolina taxpayers also dole out another $187 million to provide public services to these criminals each year. These statistics are unacceptable and the amnesty bill that is being drafted in the House of Representatives by liberal Democrats is not the answer. I led the fight to pass the toughest comprehensive immigration reform of any state in the Union, and I will do the same in the House of Representatives. As your next representative I will lead the fight to make sure all employers verify that their employees are in this country legally and that they have the proper documentation to prove their status as legal workers.
