Several years ago economic development and growth exploded in the 4th Congressional District, however, in recent years that growth has become stagnant and as a result the Upstate was hit hard by the recent recession causing record levels of unemployment. I am running for Congress because our leaders have become complacent with the sluggish economic growth that has occurred within the District in recent years. As your next representative in Washington, I will work overtime to recruit new firms to the 4th Congressional District by promoting our educated, industrious, and innovative workforce along with all the other wonderful aspects of the district. I will use the clout of my office to fly around the country, at my own expense, to meet with business leaders who are considering expansion and/or relocation to sell the District to them so that they consider our area for their relocation or expansion.
